Book Buddies pairs Junior High students with Glencoe students in grades 1 - 3 to assist them in reading fluency. It allows mentoring experiences and friendships to grow between the "Buddies" and gives everyone a great feeling of accomplishment! Students in grade 6 - 8 are invited to sign up for this program.
Book Buddies is held at the Glencoe Public Library on a weekly basis on either Mondays or Wednesdays, from 4:00 – 4:40. Students should sign up for one day and then make the commitment to attend every session. All students who participate in the program will go through a ½ hour training that will be held on Tuesday, September 15, from 3:30 – 4:00 in Young Auditorium. Students need to sign up in advance for this program, as space is limited.
Not able to make the weekly commitment? Book Buddies is always looking for substitute buddies to help out when a regular book buddy can’t make it! Sign up as a substitute!
