Book Buddies pairs Junior High students with Glencoe students in grades 1 - 3 to assist them in reading fluency. It allows mentoring experiences and friendships to grow between “buddies” and gives everyone a great feeling of accomplishment! Students in grades 6th - 8th are invited to sign up for this program.

Book Buddies is held at the Glencoe Public Library on a weekly basis on either Mondays or Wednesday, from 4:00pm - 4:30pm. Students should sign up for one day and then make the commitment to attend every session. Students need to sign up in advance for this program, as space is limited.

Not able to make a weekly commitment? Book Buddies is always looking for substitute buddies to help out when a regular book buddy can’t make it! Come to the Oasis and sign up as a substitute!

Students interested in registering for this program must turn in a permission slip. And if you have any questions about the program, feel free to contact David Gonzalez or Mimi Hahn for more information at 847.835.7623 or contact(at)gjhp.org.
