When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, he’s in for a real case of culture shock. Though he tries to fit in, the streetwise Ren can’t believe he’s living in a place where rock music and dancing are illegal! To complicate matters, Ren finds himself falling for Ariel, a troubled but spirited girl with a jealous boyfriend and a strict minister father who is responsible for keeping the town dance-free. Ren and his classmates want to do away with this ordinance, especially since prom is around the corner. Ren has the courage to initiate the battle to abolish the outdated law and revitalize the spirit of the townspeople. With its exhilarating rocking rhythms, Footloose celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people, guiding them with a warm heart and open mind.
