We have an amazing opportunity for 7th and 8th grade students interested in taking on a leadership role by mentoring young urban students through literacy.

Glencoe students will make monthly trips to the Jordan School where they will mentor 3rd graders with the aim of helping them improve their language skills and reading comprehension. This program is designed to create bonds between the older and younger students, and increase literacy through the peer mentor system.

Students will meet in the Oasis immediately after school, where they are served a light snack. We leave for the Jordan School at 4:00pm and finish at 5:30pm. Students will then be dropped off at home by 6:15pm.

Students interested in registering for this program must turn in a permission slip. And if you have any questions about the program, feel free to contact David Gonzalez or Mimi Hahn for more information at 847.835.7623 or contact(at)gjhp.org.
