Just in time for opening night, the Chicago Tribune Local runs a feature on the Glencoe Junior High Project’s production of SHREK: THE MUSICAL:

Shrek the Musical” opens Thursday, Feb. 5, at Glencoe Central School and audiences can thank the Glencoe Junior High Project, which presents the annual show.

Adam Busch of Deerfield directs 47 actors and 21 crew members featuring Glencoe sixth- through eighth-graders in a fairy tale production based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks film.

“Everybody has been working really hard the last couple of months,” Busch said. “It’s about fairy tale characters and learning to accept who you are and loving that.”

“Shrek the Musical supports the philosophy of our SEL curriculum, which is social emotional learning,” said Stacy Pritsker, a parent and show producer. “The Glencoe Junior High Project is based on that exact same premise, be who you are, find your inner self, embrace your differences and be self confident.”
