All Shook Up is a 2004 American jukebox musical with Elvis Presley music and with a book by Joe DiPietro.


All Shook Up is a new musical comedy built around a number of songs made famous by Elvis Presley. It’s NOT a biographical revue. It takes place in 1955, somewhere in middle America, where one girl’s dream and a surprise visit from a mysterious leather-jacketed, guitar-playing stranger help a small town to discover the magic of romance and the power of rock & roll. Among the 24 songs featured in the score are classics like “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Love Me Tender,” “Don’t Be Cruel,” “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” and of course the title tune, “All Shook Up”.


Adam Busch — supported by a full professional staff including choreographer, musical director, set designer, master set builder, and technical director — returns to direct his sixth GJHP Play. Adam’s vast experience and professionalism will ensure an entertaining and high-caliber production, which will be a great experience for the cast, crew and the audience.

Important information regarding ALL SHOOK UP:

Rehearsals will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursday from 3:30-5:30 (but may be extended to 5:45 in November) through December. Beginning in January, rehearsals will last until 5:45-6:00 pm and occasional weekend rehearsals may be required. We do not schedule all the actors on all days unless an “ALL-CAST” rehearsal is specified; however, actors are expected to attend all rehearsals where their part has been called unless the Producers have been notified in advance of a prior conflict. Rehearsal schedules will be released every three weeks in advance.

Dress and tech rehearsals will take place during the two weeks before the production. All cast and crew members are required to attend all tech and dress rehearsals, as well as all four performances.

Tickets will available to cast and crew families in January prior to the public.

ALL SHOOK UP Kickoff Timeline:

All enrollment forms must be submitted on-line by Friday 10/14. ALL applications, forms, play fees submitted online by credit card or by check to the Oasis prior to Auditions on October 17th/18th.

Please make sure you review the important dates for any rehearsal or production conflicts before signing up.

To sign up for Cast or Crew, please do ALL of the following:

  • Complete an online application
  • Submit Cast or Crew fees via PayPal or submit a check made out to GJHP and submit it c/o Audra Donnelly. Your child can drop it off in the Oasis, it can be left at the Central School office in a an envelope to Audra’s attention, or you can mail it to GJHP, 620 Greenwood Avenue, Glencoe, 60022. If paying by check, please include your child(ren)’s name(s) on the memo line of your check.
  • If you/your child is auditioning for a role in the Cast, make sure you sign up for a 1-hour audition slot on Monday October 17th or Tuesday October 18th

Please note: To ensure a safe and rewarding experience for all Crew participants, we are only able to accommodate the first 20 students who complete and submit applications for the Crew. Any applicants after #20 will be placed on a waitlist in the order their application is received. If you submit payment and we re unable to accommodate your child, your payment will be refunded in full.
