MAKE LAVA CAKES with GALE GAND

Thursday, May 6, 4:00-5:00pm

Participation Fee: $20

This event will be held via Zoom.

The Zoom link will be provided after you register.

Learn to make this delectable treat from award-winning chef (and former Food Network Host) Gale Gand. In addition to being a pastry chef, restaurateur, cookbook author, and TV personality, Gale is also co-owner of Kitchen Sisters Cooking School.

 

Families must supply their own ingredients:

  • 6oz semi-sweet chocolate (Gale uses Ghirardelli)

  • ½ cup butter

  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour

  • ½ cup powdered sugar

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 large egg yolks 

These ingredients make 4 Small Cakes that need to go in 6-8 oz Ramekins or oven-safe Dessert Cups.

ABOUT CHEF GALE GAND

Chef Gand is a nationally acclaimed pastry chef, restaurateur, cookbook author, TV personality, and teacher. She has been recognized as Outstanding Pastry Chef of the Year by The James Beard Foundation and Bon Appetite magazine and was inducted into the Chicago Chefs Hall of Fame.

Gale hosted the Food Network series “Sweet Dreams,” the first nationally televised all-dessert show. She has made appearances on “The Martha Stewart Show,” “Oprah,” “Baking With Julia," ”Good Morning America,” “The Rachael Ray Show” and “The Today Show.” She competed on “Iron Chef America” and was a celebrity judge on “Food Network Challenge,” “Last Cake Standing,” “Top Chef” and “Just Desserts.”
