PAST SOCIAL ACTIVITIES & EVENTS

MUD RUN
HALLOWEEN HOOPLA

Every October, GJHP sponsors the Halloween Hoopla, a 5th-8th grade costume party featuring a professional DJ, photo booth, costume contest and treats.

SIXTH GRADE SOCIAL

Every spring GJHP sponsors the Sixth Grade Social – an opportunity for sixth-grade students to connect with friends and socialize. The social features a DJ, photo booth, games and snacks.

BACKYARD BBQ

Every fall, GJHP welcomes 5th-8th grade students and their families back to school with the Backyard BBQ. This is an opportunity for the school community to play games, listen to music and meet old and new friends.

The Glencoe Mud Run is an event co-sponsored by GJHP and the Glencoe Park District.  Kids, ages 7-14, test their physical stamina by running, jumping, and balancing over a 1.25 mile, muddy obstacle course.

THE AMAZING RACE

The Amazing Race is a scavenger hunt and pizza party welcoming 5th-grade students to Central School.

SKATE NIGHT

Twice a year GJHP and the Glencoe Park District team up to offer Skate Night at the Watts Center twice a year. Open to all Glencoe middle school students,  Skate Night features an evening of skating, s’mores and games with friends.

BEACH BASH

On the last day of school, GJHP celebrates the beginning of summer with the annual Beach Bash at Glencoe Beach. All middle school students are welcome to celebrate the end of the school year with beach games, contests, sand volleyball, BBQ and much more!

GJHP MISSION STATEMENT

The Glencoe Junior High Project (GJHP) is a parent-led, non-profit organization that has sought to engage Glencoe middle school students into the community since 1973. In order to carry out our mission of fostering socially aware, civic-minded and community-oriented individuals, we offer Glencoe 5th-8th grade students opportunities to volunteer in their community, attend social activities and events, perform on stage, as well as access to a youth drop-in center in Glencoe's Central School.
