PING PONG WITH SENIORS

Thursday, April 14, 1pm-3pm

at North Shore Senior Center

161 Northfield Rd. in Northfield

FREE and Open to 5th-8th Graders!

The battle with paddles is on! Students vs. the Seniors! Project Senior Cares heads to the North Shore Senior Center for a fun afternoon of table tennis with the NSSC Ping Pong Club. These seniors are serious. Join us on this early dismissal afternoon for fun, fitness and a chance to make some new senior friends. Optional ping pong practice sessions at lunch in the Oasis!

CENTERPIECES FOR SENIORS

Wednesday, April 20, 3:30pm-5pm in the Oasis

FREE and Open to 5th-8th Graders!

Create decorative centerpieces for seniors celebrating birthdays at the CJE Deerfield residence. Channel your inner artist while designing these explosions of joy to brighten up their days.

PROJECT SENIOR CARE

Kick-Off Meeting: Thursday, January 27

3:30pm-4:30pm in the Oasis

FREE and Open to 5th-8th Graders!

We are looking for 10 Central students to assist elders in the community so that they can continue to live independently.

 

Responsibilities may include:

  • Calling their senior buddy weekly to check in and chat

  • Bringing garbage cans out to the street for pickup and return to the garage at the end of the day

  • Shoveling snow as needed

  • Picking up and delivering groceries that have been ordered and prepaid (with parental assistance)

  • Picking up and/or returning library books

A Kick-Off Meeting will be held on January 27 in the Oasis.
