This brand new program for the COVID-era will showcase our amazing students! Talent Show Acts are not limited to the performing arts! Students may submit in other areas including gymnastics, art, juggling, magic and more! We are also seeking students who may be interested in acting as Emcees for the show.

The GJHP Virtual Talent Show will be streamed on March 19 (site TBA).

Participants will also receive a free copy of the show on a USB Flash Drive!

PROGRAM DETAILS

The GJHP Virtual Talent Show is a brand new program for the COVID-era that will showcase our amazing students in grades 5-8! Acts are not limited to the performing arts! Students may submit in other areas including gymnastics, art, juggling, magic & more!

 

We are also seeking students who may be interested in being Emcees for the show. Emcees will record videos introducing acts. Interested students must submit an audition video to be selected. Our goal is to select one student from each grade level. If selected, emcees are not eligible submit a Talent Show Act unless the approved to appear in a supporting capacity for another student.

 

An Informational Zoom will be held on Thursday, January 21 at 7 pm where we will be answering your questions. All students interested in participating should submit an Interest Form in advance. You do not have to pay the fee to attend!

 

Official Registration is required by January 31 at 8pm.

 

The program will officially begin with a Kick-Off Meeting on February 1 at 4 pm. Throughout February each act will have two meetings/coaching sessions with Samara Harand. They will then record their acts and submit them by March 1.

 

All acts and emcee videos will be edited together into one big show to premiere online on Friday, March 19. A private link will be sent to the GJHP community in advance of the show.

Participants will also receive a free copy of the Talent Show on a USB Flash Drive!

Please complete the Interest Form in advance of the Informational Zoom Meeting on January 21. Once the form is completed you will receive the Zoom Link. You do NOT have to be registered or pay to attend!

Please complete your official registration and pay in advance of the February 1st Kick-Off. You do not have to be registered or pay to attend the Informational Zoom on January 21!

OTHER NOTES & RULES

  • Acts will be limited to approximately 3 minutes

  • ONE act per student unless the student is approved for an additional group act or support for another student

  • Emcees may not also "star" in a Talent Show act

  • All acts must be appropriate for a family audience

  • All acts subject to approval by the Director and GJHP

  • No lip synching routines, please

  • Acts must follow social distancing and mask requirements in place at the time of filming (unless they are part of the student's immediate quarantine bubble)

  • Family members in the student's bubble are allowed to appear in a supporting capacity as needed

GJHP MISSION STATEMENT

The Glencoe Junior High Project (GJHP) is a parent-led, non-profit organization that has sought to engage Glencoe middle school students into the community since 1973. In order to carry out our mission of fostering socially aware, civic-minded and community-oriented individuals, we offer Glencoe 5th-8th grade students opportunities to volunteer in their community, attend social activities and events, perform on stage, as well as access to a youth drop-in center in Glencoe's Central School.
