GLENCOE JUNIOR HIGH PROJECT

2026 INFORMATION

We need your help in making a child’s Secret Snowman wish come true!

This holiday season District 35, the Glencoe Junior High Project (GJHP), the Glencoe PTO and the Glencoe Park District are working together to support 521 children in need at Chicago's Back of the Yards Multicultural Academic Center (BOTY - formerly known as Chavez Elementary).

Students are currently writing letters to their “Secret Snowman,” briefly introducing themselves and describing a few special items they would like to receive this winter. Many of these children do not typically receive gifts during the holidays. Please help fulfill their wishes by choosing to sponsor a child (or two, or ten!).

Your sponsored child’s Secret Snowman letter(s) will be available beginning the week of November 9. Purchasing, wrapping, and drop-off instructions will also be given with the letters at that time.

If you have student(s) currently enrolled at D35: Your letter(s) and instructions will be sent home with your student. Please specify your YOUNGEST student when registering. If you do NOT have student(s) currently enrolled at D35: Your letter(s) and instructions will be sent to the Glencoe Park District.

Gifts are expected to be valued at approximately $30 each, and will need to be dropped off at Central School on December 8 or 9. Our community will then distribute the gifts to the students in Chicago on December 11.

We are also seeking volunteers for the gift drop-off as well as drivers to help deliver the gifts to BOTY in time for the holidays. Please sign-up for a timeslot HERE!
