WHAT IS GJHP

Led by a volunteer parent board for more than 47 years, the Glencoe Junior High Project (GJHP) serves ALL Glencoe students in grades 5-8 with the mission to foster socially aware, civic-minded, and community-oriented individuals.

GJHP offers a wide range of programming for Glencoe middle school students, including civic engagement opportunities, where students go out into the community to address social issues of food insecurity, poverty and senior isolationism; social events that promote leadership and inclusivity and no-cut performing arts programs, that explore creativity and build self-esteem. GJHP also operates a room in Glencoe’s Central School, nicknamed the “Oasis,” where middle school students can meet friends, play games, find a quiet place, or obtain social support during the school day.
