DONATE TO GJHP

Dear Glencoe Parents, Community and Friends,

We hope this letter finds you well and in high spirits! It’s that time of year when we are reaching out to our incredible patrons – you - with an update on Glencoe Junior High Project. This year, we write as GJHP activities are in full swing – bringing another year of fun, creativity and community-building to our Central School students. We kicked off the year with the new 5th Grade Amazing Race, brought back our After School Oasis weekly activities, hosted a Book Drive for Bernie's Book Bank, kicked off the latest session of Book Buddies, hosted our annual Thanksgiving Pie Sale (allowing us to donate dozens of pies to residents in need in our community), danced the night away at Halloween Hoopla, performed two shows of the 8th Grade Project's The Little Mermaid Jr., and it's only November. We are just getting started!

We are so excited for this upcoming year as we continue to support the amazing middle school students in our community. Glencoe Junior High Project is all about giving these middle schoolers a chance to explore, express and give back. Your support has been nothing short of amazing, and we’d love to invite you to be part of the magic again this year.

For more than 50 years, GJHP has strived to meet our mission of fostering socially aware, civic-minded and community-oriented individuals. We do this through a combination of programming; between our annual no-cut musical, literacy programs, civic engagement opportunities, monthly social events, and a wide variety of after school activities in the Oasis, there is truly something for every Glencoe middle school student to enjoy!

To continue fulfilling our mission supporting Glencoe youth for another 50 years, we need your help! GJHP relies on grants and charitable donations from private donors such as yourself to continue our work. This year we have lost funding from our historically largest grant, the New Trier Township, because of a change in their policy requiring all funded organizations to equally serve all youth across the township (4000+ middle-schoolers). GJHP has chosen to continue to focus on Glencoe middle schoolers in order to preserve the all-inclusive nature of our programs (no-cut performing arts, and inclusive opportunity for 100% of Glencoe middle-schoolers, which would not be sustainable if we expanded scope to 4,000+ students). We ask you to please consider a donation to GJHP as we begin this new year and we extend our heartfelt appreciation for your continued support. Your donation will be put to great use right here in our own village!

Donations can be made directly below or by check payable to “Glencoe Junior High Project” sent to P.O. Box 322, Glencoe, IL 60022. All financial contributions are fully tax deductible. We appreciate the continued support of the Glencoe community.

Sincerely,

Lisa Bell and Cathy O'Toole, Co-Presidents

and The GJHP Board
