A Cast Info Meeting for interested students (and parents) will be held in November, followed by a Workshop & Auditions in December. The Cast List will be posted online Friday, December 18.
Rehearsals begin in January 2027 on Mondays, Wednesday and Thursdays, 3:30pm-5:45pm, with additional rehearsals in April. Some conflicts are allowed and cast members won't be called every day or the whole time. More flexibility for ensemble & dancers! 5th Graders will only be called 1-2 times a week at most until full attendance begins in April. See the Bring It On Info Packet
Attendance Note: Rehearsals are mandatory starting April 3. Cast must attend ALL Tech/Dress Rehearsals & Shows, April 10-18 (double cast performers appear in all 4 shows!). Enrollment in other theater and sports programs is allowed if the dates do not conflict with our Tech and Shows. If you have a 5th or 6th Grader planning to also do Broadway Bound in the Spring, please enroll in the Tuesday session! We can work around Basketball & Volleyball.
This production is subject to licensing approval and will be appropriate for our performers and audiences of all ages.
In Spring 2027, GJHP will present the explosive musical comedy BRING IT ON, live in Misner Auditorium at Central School, for four performances, April 15-18, 2027. This crowd favorite features songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton) and Tom Kitt (Next to Normal), and a book by Jeff Whitty (Avenue Q).
This no-cut musical production is open to all Glencoe 6th-8th graders. That means everyone who auditions is cast in the show! Plus, this year we are adding a 5th Grade Junior Ensemble that will participate in auditions and other cast activities, and will appear in the ensemble of the show. They are not eligible for speaking roles and will only will be called for 1-2 rehearsals per week (maximum) until full attendance begins in April.
The GJHP Musical is one of the largest productions in the area, with a professional creative team providing an experience like those at New Trier High School, including exciting dances, awesome harmonies, great costumes, a huge set and cool lights. Samara Harand (Mean Girls, Newsies, Rock of Ages, Legally Blonde, Footloose, and High School Musical) returns to direct and choreograph her seventh big GJHP show.
NOTE: Bring It On is not a “cheerleading” musical! It is relatable story about the modern teen experience and the pressure and anxiety that comes with growing up and finding your “squad”...with a few twists! The show includes a variety of music and dance styles from rap to pop to contemporary musical theater. The soundtrack is the best mix of Hamilton and Mean Girls, and not all roles require cheer, tumbling or intense hip hop dancing!

An email with instructions for how to access all the AUDITION MATERIALS & TIMESLOT SIGN-UP will be sent to registered families on Thursday, November 19 at 5pm. Those who register after that will receive access in an autoreply. A preview of audition songs is already available below!
AUDITION WORKSHOP: December 1, 3:30-5:45
The workshop is optional but highly recommended! We will be reviewing all materials and teaching the songs and the dance for the audition! This is also a great time to ask questions!
AUDITIONS: December 7 or 8, 3:45-5:30 or 4:45-6:30

Audition Timeslot Sign-Up and a complete Audition Packet will be sent to registered cast starting November 19 at 5pm
CALLBACKS: December 10 & 11, 3:30pm-7pm
Callback List will be posted online by December 9 at Noon. Not everyone will receive a callback or need to attend both days or stay the entire time. Students should be prepared to sing, act and dance again and be ready to submit a video if necessary or requested. The best way to prepare for callbacks is to become familiar with the show and cast recordings.
This is a no cut show! Everyone will be cast!

Some roles will be double-cast. REFUND POLICY: If you drop from the show by Dec 31, you will get a full refund but incur a $25 fee. Starting Jan 1, your refund will be prorated & you will incur a $25 fee. No refunds after March 1.

Campbell is cheer-royalty at Truman High zchool and her senior year should prove the most cheertastic — she's been named captain of the squad! But an unexpected redistricting has forced her to spend her final year at the neighboring Jackson High School. Despite having the deck stacked against her, Campbell befriends the school's dance crew. Together with their headstrong and hardworking leader, Danielle, they form a powerhouse squad for the ultimate competition — the National Championships.

ABOUT THE GJHP MUSICAL
The GJHP Musical is a no-cut show open to Glencoe 5th-8th graders. This is one of the largest productions in the area, with a professional creative team providing an experience like those at New Trier High School, including exciting dances, awesome harmonies, great costumes and live band. Misner will be transformed with a huge set, lights and sound.
The Crew is a critical part of the GJHP Musical. Members are responsible for behind-the-scenes elements like running lights and sound, managing props, and changing set pieces during the show. Being part of the Crew is an excellent way to get backstage experience on a big show! Find out more about the Crew HERE.
