Live in Central School's Misner Auditorium

Produced & Performed by Glencoe 8th Graders!

2 Performances: November 14 & 15 at 7pm
$7 in advance ($10 at the door)

The Glencoe Junior High Project' s Eighth Grade Project presents the hilarious musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, live in Misner Auditorium at Central School, for two performances, November 14-15, 2025 at 7pm. This show is produced and performed by Glencoe 8th graders, under the mentorship of Director Samara Harand. â€‹

Winner of the Tony and the Drama Desk Awards for Best Book, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee has charmed audiences with its effortless wit and humor. Featuring a fast-paced, wildly funny and touching book by Rachel Sheinkin and a truly fresh and vibrant score by William Finn, this bee is one unforgettable experience.

An eclectic group of six mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming "ding" of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves a champion! At least the losers get a juice box. A riotous ride, complete with audience participation, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a delightful den of comedic genius.

Tickets ($7 in advance / $10 at the door) are available HERE! All tickets are general admission, with seating on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors will open at 6:40pm. This production is presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
